In response to the orders of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to distribute 5,000 housing units and services, the Ministry of Housing handed over units of the Al-Qalia neighborhood in the city of East Hidd to citizens in recent weeks their contracts have been presented
Project manager, Eng. Mohammed Rashdan stated that the procedures for handing over the housing units to the citizens were carried out on a schedule in coordination between the housing services and projects departments. He indicated that this step came after citizens completed the procedures for documenting contracts and opening bank accounts with Housing Bank. He noted that the surrender procedure takes place after a citizen completes their procedure by calling the ministry’s hotline to make an appointment.
Rashdan stated that the ministry has been keen to ensure the readiness of all units in the past few days and to review guarantee contracts with contractors to ensure high quality housing services are provided to citizens. He stressed that the ministry gives high priority to housing quality as it receives direct attention from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the prestigious government led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister .
He added that ministerial officials are interested in sharing the joy of citizens receiving their housing units, especially as the nature of the housing issue guarantees the stability of Bahraini families by providing adequate housing. He said this matter is the target of all plans and programs proposed by the ministry that are working to implement it faster.
Rashdabn said the Al-Qalia project is distinguished by the design of its units, which simulate the Bahraini architectural style and the coastal environment of the Hidd area. He stated that in drawing up drafts and detailed plans for the project, the ministry was keen to take inspiration from the details of the capital, Hidd, in order to preserve the general character and social fabric that people in the area feel characterize.
He added that the surroundings of the residential units also received a great deal of attention in terms of design, with courtyards and coastal paths in addition to parks and children’s playgrounds. He added that this approach to urban development is in line with the prestigious government’s willingness to implement the eleventh goal of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is that cities and human settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable are.
The project leader noted that the procedures for the delivery of housing units took place a few days after the completion of the procedures for handing over contracts to citizens and after the completion of the documentation procedures and the opening of bank accounts with the Housing Bank. He noted that the speed in completing these procedures stems from the ministry’s determination to adhere to the schedule mandated by HRH, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the distribution of 5,000 housing units and services.
