Johnny Depp was in Serbia on Tuesday to unveil a statue of himself at a film festival organized by a friend of the director.
And if the curse of the Caribbean stars had doubts about the similarity of the model, he certainly did not show them when he posed at the opening ceremony of the third international Kustendorfer film and music festival.
The statue represents Johnny’s character in the film Arizona Dream, which he shot in 1993 with the festival’s organizer, Emir Kusturica.
The two-time Palme d’Or filmmaker, who will reunite with Johnny and Salma Hayek for his next film, also presented the star with an award at the ceremony.
As a guest of honor, Johnny received full VIP treatment during his visit to Serbia.
On his arrival in the capital, Belgrade, he met President Boris Tadic before being flown by helicopter to the festival in the remote mountain village of Drvengrad.
During his three-day stay, Guest of Honor Johnny will lead workshops for young filmmakers, watch films, and visit locations for his and Emir’s upcoming project.
