Vesić told TV Pink that he thinks that the citizens of Belgrade deserve to be rewarded because they are very committed to vaccination.

From May 8, the work of closed parts of catering facilities will be allowed, and my message to caterers is to respect all measures and to vaccinate their employees so that they can work normally, Vesić pointed out. He stated that, apart from Belgrade, Sremska Mitrovica, Nis, Novi Sad, Uzice and some other regions have excellent results in vaccination.

The Deputy Mayor stated that 40,000 people work in the catering industry in Belgrade, and that is why Belgrade has made an additional contribution to the efforts of the Government of Serbia to protect the standard of employees.

Vesić stated that at the last session of the City Assembly, a decision was made to release all caterers who work in the city’s business premises from paying rent for May.

There are 481 caterers in question, a total of 42,000 square meters, and all caterers on the territory of Belgrade will be exempt from paying garden taxes for June and July. In that way, we wanted to help them pay their employees regularly and to compensate a little for the damage that occurred, Vesić explained.

He announced that vaccination will start at the end of this week in the “Ušće” shopping center.

Now that we have reached this number of vaccinated in Belgrade, we believe that it is necessary to change the vaccination strategy and that we should go where people live, work and come, said Vesić.

He announced that from May 15, the City of Belgrade, together with Exit and Birfest, will start a campaign to promote vaccination among young people.

We think that it is very important to address young people, but we will continue to try to go to the villages and, together with the Chamber of Commerce, organize the vaccination of people where they work, Vesić added.

According to him, the City of Belgrade, together with the City Institute for Public Health and Inventory Industry, proposed four protocols so that weddings, congresses, seminars, concerts and more could be organized.

We expect the Government to adopt those protocols, and it would be good to say what will be allowed when 50 percent of the citizens are vaccinated, said the deputy mayor.

Vesić added that Birfest will be organized in accordance with epidemiological measures, that the sale of tickets for Fest has started and that Belef, Bitef, Bemus, Book Fair, as well as the Jazz Festival will be held, because it is time to return to normal life.
