The state called on the municipalities to apply for subsidies for the replacement of carpentry and renovation of facades on residential buildings and houses!
Municipalities first apply for the competition of the Ministry of Energy by May 21, and it is expected that applications for citizens will start in June. The first contracts should be realized in the fall.
It is estimated that about three million households would be eligible for this assistance.
Citizens would finance 50 percent of the total investment, and the other half would be provided by the municipality and the state. The public invitation states that the money is also intended for financing family houses, so this is good news for a large number of those who did not do the facade.

It is also being considered that half of the money that citizens provide themselves can be obtained on credit. The state would therefore give half of the funds for carpentry or facade, and the other half could be provided through a loan.
– Two models are being prepared according to which citizens will be able to apply. We will start first with preparatory projects in certain municipalities in Serbia, and the financing will be in such a way that 50 percent will be financed by the Energy Efficiency Administration and local self-government, and 50 percent by citizens. As these 50 percent paid by citizens are not small, we will enable them to take a loan and repay their part of the costs through installments – said Zoran Lakićević, State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, and added that this lending has not been specified yet, but will be completed. years.

– The expectations are that this year we will start with the first model, which means that 50 percent will be given directly by the state, and 50 percent by the citizens – he pointed out.
Thus, for example, Kragujevac will give 100,000 dinars per household for the replacement of carpentry and 70,000 dinars for the replacement of boilers.
– At the same time, two competitions will be announced, one for window and door manufacturers and boiler sellers, and the other for citizens – says the city’s energy manager Ana Radojević.
She explained that five million dinars are planned for these purposes in the city treasury, and that the ministry is expected to do the same amount.
– Uzice, for example, started financing energy rehabilitation five years ago, also with five million dinars, and today it is investing 50 million dinars for those purposes – Radojevic points out.
There will be a lot of applications
Goran Rodić from the Construction Chamber of Industry points out that a huge number of citizens will certainly apply for these subsidies.
– This will be the job of the decade. I think everyone is waiting to sign up. There are close to three million buildings and private houses in Serbia that are not energy efficient. This also means that craftsmen, potters, and many companies will be employed. Citizens will get energy-efficient houses, so they will spend less on heating, and there will be less pollution. Everyone will be fine – Rodić points out.
