“There are several companies that, among other things, for those more serious missions, are thinking about how to finance their existence with so-called tourist flights. They approximately cost those flights somewhere between 200 and 300 thousand dollars, “said Petar Vojinović, editor of the aviation portal Tango six, as a guest in the Belgrade Chronicle.

“It will never be really commercial, except maybe one of Richard Branson’s companies, which is developing a kind of aircraft that resembles an airplane. He is the only one who really aims to just stay in those suborbital flights, that is, up to 100 kilometers in height, where you see the curvature of the Earth and you are not technically in space “, adds Vojinović.

He says that all other companies, including those of Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, have some ultimate goals, stating that Musk said that he wants to travel to Mars, and that “what he is currently doing is only a phase of preparation for that.”

As for Jeff Bezos and his company, which is financed by Amazon shares, Vojinovic says that he is engaged in the development of engines for demanding space flights and that he has received agreements from the United States that such programs, as a private company, can be dealt with. are also personal preparations for such an endeavor.

“They have to meet the psycho-health criteria, but they do not control the aircraft, because everything is automated. They had test flights in preparation, ”he explained.

The capsules in which the space tourists will sit are designed so that the environment can be well observed from them.

“However, for Blue Origin, that is not a priority as it is with Richard Branson, who had to design the aircraft with a lot of windows. “Even with the Space Ex aircraft, there is not that much space to see,” said Vojinović.

“Maybe one of these companies will manage to realize flights for a slightly larger number of tourists in ten years, probably only in America. Both Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk use this for publicity and as part of a story related to marketing and financing their ultimate goals. While Musk wants to go to Mars, Bezos’ goal is the Moon. Bezos’ vision is also to move heavy industry from Earth into orbit, “says the editor of the Tango Six portal.
