The Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Mettawa continued its tradition of introducing Serbian food and culture to the community this weekend.
The two-day Taste of Serbia Festival ended on Sunday with traditional food, drinks and music, as well as sellers of music, books, jewelry and other items.
Festival goers went to church on Sunday to light candles, see a presentation on Serbian culture, and learn about well-known Serbs in America.
Food on offer included lamb, fried pork, stuffed cabbage rolls, authentic Serbian bread, sausages, shish kebabs, grilled corn, and a variety of baked goods. A children’s area included huge inflatables and games.
