The Shura Council takes great pride in the attention and support Bahraini women receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Shura also praised the direct attention paid to Bahraini women by the government, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the ongoing patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife by HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
In a statement on today’s International Women’s Day, which this year will be celebrated under the motto “Women in Leadership Positions: An Equal Future in a COVID-19 World”, the Council praised the outstanding initiatives of HRH Princess Sabeeka to empower women and Women enable them to become major top performers nationally and internationally.
The Shura said the global celebration of women in leadership positions highlights the prestigious position and high level of Bahraini women, as well as their national responsibility in filling many leadership positions in line with their commitment to Bahrain.
The council expressed pride in the success stories that Bahraini women have made through their presence on the front lines of the national campaign to fight the coronavirus as they set multiple examples of national commitment and sacrifice to the health, wellbeing and safety of citizens and residents to guarantee .
The Shura reaffirmed its commitment to continue to enact laws and statutes that improve women’s rights, strengthen their status, and enable them to make further progress and higher status.
Prominent Leadership The Council of Representatives congratulated HM the King on the progress made by Bahraini women and on their outstanding leadership in the vast development process.
She also congratulated HRH Prince Salman on supporting and empowering women and strengthening the principle of equal opportunities through an inclusive national vision, Team Bahrain, that promotes opportunity and addresses challenges.
The Council expressed its deep appreciation for the support and guidance from HRH Princess Sabeeka in helping to improve the status of Bahraini women internationally.
Thanks to the efforts and initiatives of HRH Princess Sabeeka, Bahraini women have become shining examples of how women support the state’s efforts to fight the pandemic and help keep countries safe, the statement added.
The council paid tribute to all Bahraini women who have bravely been at the forefront in all fields of facing the pandemic and its impact, weaving success stories for Bahrain and for themselves, and demonstrating their leadership skills in facing challenges.
