SPECIAL EVENTS

• The Mercer County Toastmasters Club is holding a special event, Tall Tales, in the conference room on June 8th at 6:15 pm at the UPMC Horizon, 2200 Memorial Drive, Farrell. The sessions last approximately an hour and guests are welcome to attend. Regular meetings take place every month on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

Toastmasters is a not-for-profit organization with more than 300,000 members in 13,500 clubs in 116 countries.

• The Stoneboro Sesquicentennial Committee is hosting a classic car show on June 26th from 1pm to 6pm to celebrate the city’s 150th anniversary.

Entry is free and open to all brands, models and years. Commemorative plaques and People’s Choice Awards are given.

An arts and crafts exhibition will be held in Memorial Park starting June 25th at 9:00 a.m.

• The Stoneboro Garden Club is hosting an event on June 24th from 11am to 4pm, the Stoneboro House and Church Tour, to mark the 150th anniversary of the congregation.

The cost of this self-guided tour is $ 10 and includes tours of six houses and three churches, as well as a packed lunch. Tickets, call a Garden Club member, or call 724-376-7070.

Bus rides

• The Sharpsville Historical Society is sponsoring a gaming excursion to the Rocky Gap Casino Resort, Cumberland, Md., September 29th through October 29th. 1. The trip includes a three-hour scenic train ride to Maryland on September 30th. The train ride is $ 35 per person and is optional.

SESSIONS

• The 1966 Farrell High School class is meeting for lunch today at Brewtus Brewery, Chestnut Street, Sharon.

All are welcome.

PROGRAM

• Visit Munnell Run Farm and Cyndi Burk to learn about flower arrangements in the red pigsty on the farm, 753 Greenville Road, Coolspring Township, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on June 7th. Bring a vase; Flowers are provided. The cost is $ 30.

FUNDRAISERS

• The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage, is hosting a Strawberry Fest Social on June 22nd from 2pm to 6pm.

Fresh strawberries, cake, ice cream, and drinks are $ 5.

They also have stuffed cabbage, cabbage and noodles, hot dogs, sloppy joes, macaroni salad, and baked beans for a reasonable price.

The proceeds will benefit the Dorcas Society projects.

• The Mercer Rotary Club is hosting a wine tasting gala at the Brandy Springs Community Building, Route 158, south of Mercer, June 11 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

There will be fine wines, starters and more.

Tickets are $ 25 upfront and at the door. A VIP ticket is $ 30 and allows you to join the event at 3:30 PM to judge all of the wines.

The proceeds will be used to renovate the Brandy Springs Community Building.

• St. George Serbian Orthodox Church will hold a foretaste of the Serbian Food Fair on Sunday from 11am to 8pm at the church, 69 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage.

There’s roast lamb, nut rolls, pagach, apple strudel, stuffed cabbage, Serbian cookies, Serbian potato salad and much more, as well as a Chinese auction.
