Ivan and Matej Sabanov, Croatian tennis players born in Subotica, decided to play for Serbia.
The two of them are good friends with all our tennis players, and this year at Wimbledon, Ivan played with Dušan Lajović in doubles, while Matej played with Filip Krajinović.
From the age of 15, they moved to Osijek, where they lived and trained for a long time.
Now they have decided to play for Serbia, and one of the reasons is Novak Djokovic.
– Novak gave us everything. He gave us the best possible conditions. Novak Djokovic’s support is something that cannot be described in words. He has always been our role model and a person we admire during our careers. His support means a lot to us. Every piece of his advice is extremely valuable for our careers and it is a great honor for us to have the opportunity to learn from such a tennis player. We trained with him, he provided us with the best possible conditions and that is what we really needed – says Matej Sabanov for “Jutarnji”.
Matej and Ivan won the 250 tournament in Belgrade this year.
The two of them have already managed to find themselves among the hundred double players on the ATP list, and a great career is predicted for them.
