U.S. President Joseph Biden and his wife Jill announced today that one of their pets, the German shepherd Champ, died.
Champ was part of the family for 13 years and passed away in peace at his home, the White House said.
“Although Champ’s strength had been declining in the past few months, when we entered the room, he would immediately get up, turn his tail and play with us. “Wherever we were, he wanted to be with us, everything was better when he was with us,” the statement reads, reports the “Fox 11 LA” website.
Champ has been with the Biden family since 2008, and Biden’s daughters gave him the name.
“Fox 11 LA” adds that Biden’s other shepherd, Major, was involved in several incidents when he bit people since Biden became the head of the White House.
The major has been with the Biden since 2018.
