Members of the Ministry of Interior, Department for Fighting Corruption, in cooperation with the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Nis and the Ministry of Education, identified and clarified malversations in the field of secondary education and arrested 34 people, seven of whom were detained for up to 48 hours. .
Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position, the following were arrested: ZJ (1963), responsible person of Dositej High School and Belgrade Technical High School, OZ (1972) responsible person of Dositej High School, JB (1986) and JM (1983) employed at the High School “Dositej”, as well as D. Ž. (1985) former responsible person of the Secondary Technical School, MC (1981), responsible person of the Secondary Technical School, as well as employees of that school BJ (1979) and DL (1979).
Also, due to the suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position in helping, the mediators NS (1974), MM (1965), Lj. I. (1960), as well as 23 student candidates suspected of giving money to obtain diplomas.
ZJ is suspected of enabling students to obtain diplomas of secondary education, retraining or additional training in the fields within the secondary schools in which he is the responsible person, without the attendance of classes and attendance at exams, for a pre-agreed financial compensation.
As suspected, OZ, JB, JM, D. Ž., MC, BJ and DL, as suspected, by order and instructions of ZJ, anti-dated the documentation on student enrollment, as well as the minutes of the exam so as to gain the appearance that students took exams several years ago and so that the documentation would be in accordance with the legal length of schooling.
There are grounds for suspicion that the diplomas obtained in this way were used during employment and the realization of labor and legal privileges in the country and abroad.
The suspects NS, MM and Lj. I. are charged with finding student candidates and charging for agreed services and then, as suspected, handing over the money to ZJ
The suspects ZJ, O. Z, D. Ž., MC, NS, MM and Lj. I. detention for up to 48 hours has been ordered and they will be brought to the competent prosecutor’s office with a criminal report, while the other suspects will be brought to the competent prosecutor’s office with a criminal report.
