Croatian historian, columnist of the NET portal Hrvoje Klasić received death threats this morning in a letter addressed to the Department of History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, where he works as an associate professor.
The letter is entitled “Invitation to the Croatian people” in which it is said: “Kill Klasić, not a Serb! Kill the classic traitor! Kill him the way the Ustashas killed more than 700,000 Serbs in Jasenovac: with a hammer, by driving a nail into his forehead, with a Serb cutter or in another way. Not only Klasic, but also other well-known traitors who openly and secretly act against the Croatian people in the Croatian Parliament, the judiciary, the media, some faculties, the so-called anti-fascist and other non-governmental associations. “
It is also stated that “all this should be recorded and posted on social networks so that it can be watched. Until Croatia gets rid of its traitors, it will not move forward. Ready for home! ” Klasic told the NET portal that he had received dozens of similar anonymous death threats in recent years, but that this was “especially frightening”.
– Hate is felt, anger is felt. This is not the first time and in a way I have already got used to it, but I don’t care because we live in a world where everything is possible and where people are ready for anything – says Klasić, who has reported all previous threats.
He points out that he had excellent relations with the police.
– They have always been very cooperative, but I know that they do not have too much time to deal with me, so I do not know if I will report the threat this time. All the more so as the letter is anonymous. Maybe it could be determined through the saliva on the postage stamp who sent it. But if they don’t have that person in the database, on the basis of which they will find him – Klasić told NET, who, as it is stated, was significantly shaken.
