TIRANA, June 5th – Turkey will open its borders to Albania on June 22nd.
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Turkey will gradually open its borders mainly with Turkish Cyprus, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Qatar and Greece on June 10th.
Five days later, the borders with Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Japan, North Macedonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia and Tajikistan open. The borders with Albania, Bosnia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, South Korea, Ireland, Montenegro, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway and Slovakia will open on June 22nd, followed by Belgium on June 25th.
Turkey closed all flights to and from Italy on March 1, 2020, while it closed its borders with the rest of the world on March 15. In Albania, however, return flights to and from Istanbul via the airline ‘Air Albania’ continued for a short time thereafter.
