Since the beginning of the year, about 7,500 citizens have been tested for coronavirus on the territory of the North Banat district. In Kikinda, about 30 percent of the population that can receive the vaccine has been vaccinated, and 5,000 of them are waiting for a long dose, which means that this percentage will soon reach 40.

– Immunization in Kikinda is going well, but that is not enough to reduce the disease to individual cases. We need to reach 70 percent of vaccinated citizens, in order to bring kovid 19 under control.

Citizens can choose one of the four vaccines and do not have to make an appointment, because we have enough for everyone. This means that, if they have scheduled an appointment with e-government, they do not have to wait for the first call, but can answer on their own – pointed out Dr. Tatjana Karać, epidemiologist and head of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention at the Kikinda Public Health Institute.

About 500 people are currently active in Kikinda out of 19. Vaccines were also available to citizens in the villages, and the local self-government organized transportation for the residents of the surrounding local communities on several occasions in order to increase immunization.
