The Ministry of Health has set up mobile units to vaccinate the elderly as directed by the Coordinating Committee headed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
It is part of an effort to ensure the health and safety of the citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain and to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
This comprehensive vaccination service is unique in the region.
Medical staff visit older people in their homes and give them the vaccine to protect them from the virus.
The ministry monitors the applications submitted through its website and lists the needs of the elderly as well as those with special needs who register to receive the vaccination.
It has put in place a mechanism to deploy mobile units to all governorates in the kingdom.
Medical staff will work closely with applicants’ families to inform them of the date of the vaccination team’s visit.
The ministry is implementing the government’s proactive plans to achieve the targeted goal of achieving the highest levels of health security to address the pandemic.
