Consequences of a devastating earthquake
At the end of December 2020, the city of Petrinja and the surrounding places on Banja were hit by several devastating earthquakes, which caused huge losses to the locals.
In addition to the destroyed residential and other buildings, Serbian temples and parish homes were also damaged, especially in the parishes of Glina, Petrinja and partly Kostajnica.
The direct damage from the earthquake in Banja is estimated at a little over five billion euros, and help to the residents there is coming from all sides.
The Homeland Association of Banijas, Descendants and Friends of Banija from Sydney, known for its work since its founding, joins the homeland with humanitarian actions.
Valuable members of the mentioned association are organizing help for the injured Serbs of Banija, and for that purpose they are organizing a dinner in the hall of the Serbian National Defense in the Sydney suburb of Kenley Vale on Saturday, April 17 from 7 pm
Admission with dinner is fifty dollars, and several of our interpreters of folk melodies will perform, accompanied by the orchestra of Slavče Dinić.
