Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić will play in the All-Star match the next night.
The Serbian Center, one of the candidates for the recognition of the MVP of the season, talked about what it is like to play with LeBron James, but also about how many great young talents there will be in this match.
Nikola also remembered his first All-Star game and what it looked like.
– In my first All-Star game, all I had in my head was not to do something stupid, not to dance, sing or something like that. That was my first goal. Now I’m here again and it’s not that I’m particularly nervous. Everything is normal. That is the biggest difference compared to that first time – Jokic admitted.
He also recalled last year’s performance and how exciting that fourth quarter was.
– In the end, you always want to win. That’s why we play basketball, to win. I remember Chris Paul saying, ‘let’s be a little smarter and win the game’. It’s interesting, everyone is concentrated and you have ten guys on the floor, ten of the best in the world who want to win the game. That is interesting – the Serbian center added.
He is also aware of how many young players there will be in the next clash.
– That is the beauty of these matches. We all give kids a chance, to see what they can do in the NBA. They can even reach the All-Star match. We are witnessing the realization of the dreams of individual guys.
In the end, they also asked him what it was like to play with LeBron James.
– I always repeat, it is a great pleasure to play next to such players, they are the best on the planet. It’s fun to share the field with them, especially with LeBron, who is the best. He is a really relaxed guy – concluded Jokić.
