Radnički will be the first to take the field against Gzira, and coach Tomislav Sivić says that the team will not have an easy job.
“Ahead of us is a game that our fans have been looking forward to for a long time, for three years. Radnicki has the ambition to play in Europe every season, because it has a tradition of good results on the international stage. Because of this, we have an obligation to be at the level tomorrow. We are ready to go out to Megdan Gzira and to give everything in our power to achieve a good result,” Sivic said.
“They are a solid team. They have a lot of foreigners, they play in a 5-3-2 system, on counters and half-counters. They have two attackers who are left alone with the opposing stoppers and that can be a danger. We have to be smart, to take advantage of their weaknesses. They have some tricky players.”
He then referred to the playing conditions in this island nation.
“Everything is different here, the humidity, the heat, the playing conditions are very difficult. We will play on an artificial surface. But we don’t want any excuses. We came here the day before, which is very good, we have time to get used to it and there is no reason to tomorrow we won’t be the right team. We are a better team than them and we want to show that,” Sivic pointed out.
Čukarički will play the first match of the second round of qualification for the Conference League against Racing Union in Luxembourg on Thursday from 20:00, with live broadcast on RTS2.
“Brđani” trained at the beautiful national stadium in the evening, and before that a press conference was held, which was attended only by representatives of the Serbian media.
“I’ve always said that there are no easy rivals in Europe. In Luxembourg, the teams, as well as the national team, are playing better and better. We respect everyone, but we want a good result for the rematch,” said Čukaricki coach Dušan Kerkez.
Kerkez analyzed the opponent.
“They have a lot of foreigners, some of them from our area, as well as their new coach. We will not underestimate them, they are a good team, we have to take them seriously. I expect us to score a goal and keep our net,” added the coach of the Serbian club .
