Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar said that he believes that the introduction of covid passes was key to increase the number of vaccinated in Serbia, and that they are considering extending their deadline.

Opening two new angio-halls for invasive cardiac diagnostics in Nis, Loncar said that, in the interest of the citizens, the deadline could be extended in which kovid passes will be mandatory.
– Whether it will be to extend those passes to 24 hours or something else, we will insist on that – said Lončar.

He said the goal is for citizens to have security.
– We do not want them to be hostages, especially those citizens who adhered to everything, who were vaccinated, to be afraid to go to restaurants and cinemas and to know when they go there that it is a safe zone, that they are either vaccinated there or tested people – said the minister.
Loncar also said that the vaccine is the best way to protect against coronavirus, but also the only way to keep everything “under control”.

– As things stand, our new normality will be such that we will have to be vaccinated every five to six months, depending on the type of vaccine. That is the way to keep everything under control, otherwise we will not be able to – said Lončar.
The Minister said that no one was aiming for a new closure and that is why he once again appealed to people to get vaccinated.
