Zvezda convincing towards Kolubara, Katai and Pavkov double scorers

With a convincing triumph against Kolubara 5:0Crvena zvezda let their rivals know that they will not give up the championship title.

The team from Lazarevac was sent off from the “Rajko Mitić” stadium with five goals in the net, and the red and white scored all the goals in the first half of the match.

Dejan Stanković’s team took the lead in the ninth minute, when Aleksandar Katai finished a solo action on the left side with a precise shot.

In the 15th minute, it was 2:0, and Milan Pavkov entered the list of scorers, who took advantage of young Stanković’s cross and deftly beat the visiting goalkeeper Balša Popović with his head.

The convincing start of the red and white team completely disrupted the game of Kolubara, which arrived in Belgrade with the idea of outplaying the champion.

A large number of mistakes caused by the high pressure of Zvezda’s players created enough opportunities for the hosts, who were able to use their chances.

Already in the 22nd minute, Pavkov scored the second goal of the match, and Katai did the same three minutes later.

In the 36th minute, VAR canceled Bukari’s goal due to offside, but the red and whites still managed to score at halftime, as Kanga managed to beat Popović with a precise shot in the 45th minute.

The coach of the guests, Đurđević, made as many as three changes in the half-time, which produced results.

Still, Zvezda was the better rival, had more possession of the ball as well as shots on the Kolubara goal, but the distribution of forces in the middle of the field was significantly more balanced.

The slightly less aggressive game of the red and whites, in whose ranks Kangva and Ivanić had several attempts each, contributed to this.

The best chance for the guests was created by Stefan Marjanović, who shook the crossbar of Zvezda’s goal with a shot from more than 25 meters.

At the end of the match, Stanković gave a chance to the young forces, Leković and Lucić had the opportunity to show the home fans what they know.

It was Lučić who won a penalty for the red and whites in the 85th minute, and Leković got the chance to join the list of scorers. However, goalkeeper Božović read the young Zvezda player and saved the shot from 11 meters.

Thus, Zvezda achieved its second victory in two games played and already gained two points ahead of its eternal rival, the Partizan team, which on Friday drew with Radnički in Niš.
