When helicobacter assaults, cabbage, sage and olive oil come to the rescue

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that is found only in humans in the lower part of the stomach (pylorus) and is associated with the occurrence of inflammation of the stomach (gastritis), duodenal ulcer, less often the stomach. This bacterium is able to release ammonia from urea, which allows it to survive in the very acidic environment of the stomach.

Journalist and folk herbalist, Momčilo Antonijević, emphasizes that if we suffer from this problem, we should first consult a doctor and follow all the instructions and advice we receive from him. Certain herbs can be used with medicinal therapy because they are not contraindicated with medicines, but considering that it is a serious illness, herbs should be primarily a help, because they can really help in treatment.

Cabbage and broccoli

“We use cabbage and broccoli in cooking and we know them as delicious vegetables, but we don’t know that they are extremely medicinal plants,” emphasizes Momčilo Antonijević.

The famous French herbalist Maurice Messege, who had the opportunity to treat famous rulers, always caused laughter when he appeared at the door with a head of cabbage, because it was one of his universal remedies, along with nettles.

Science has proven him right because both cabbage and broccoli contain the compound sulforaphane, which has been confirmed to directly affect Helicobacter.

“I strongly advise all people suffering from this bacteria to drink one deciliter of fresh cabbage juice every day. Now is the cabbage season, and we all have some kind of juicer in the house and we can juice,” adds the herbalist.

The same can be achieved with micro-herbs, because broccoli micro-herbs contain concentrated all those substances that broccoli has later when it develops. In addition, a smaller amount of micro-herbs is needed compared to the amount of mature plant that should be consumed.

Sage

For people who have a problem with the thyroid gland and helicobacter, sage is the plant that can help them the most, because it affects the secretion of thyroid hormones, but also prevents the helicobacter from multiplying.

To prepare the tincture against helicobacter, you need: a spoonful of dry sage, Ijirot root, which can be bought in health food stores, because this plant is strictly protected in our country, Ijirot has a very beneficial effect on our digestive organs and is recommended for people who have disorders secretion of stomach acid, and it helps smokers who want to get rid of this bad habit because it causes aversion to cigarettes.

The third ingredient in these drops is yarrow, also a tablespoon of flowers and leaves, which is an excellent remedy for gastritis and is recommended for people who have any kind of digestive problems.

The fourth plant is white wormwood, which is a symbol of misery and hellebore, but its medicinal properties come from those bitter substances. Antonijević warns that any preparation with wormwood should not be used by pregnant women because it can cause a miscarriage.

Everything is poured with 150 milliliters of 75% alcohol and we keep the container for two weeks in a dark and dry place. The container should be shaken from time to time and filtered after two weeks.
It is drunk by diluting one teaspoon of this tincture with one deciliter of water and drinking it before meals. It is drunk three times a day until the entire amount of tincture is consumed.

Olive oil

In an interesting study from 2009, it was determined that olive oil acts on as many as nine types of Helicobacter strains, and of these three strains were highly resistant to antibiotics.

“It would be ideal for everyone who has problems with Helicobacter to drink one tablespoon of olive oil every morning on an empty stomach,” Antonijević emphasizes.

There is an even more beneficial agent, which is a combination of olive oil, St. John’s wort and heather essential oil.

In addition to those mentioned, plants containing mucilage can also help. This group includes linseed, black and white marshmallow, Iceland lichen and comfrey root.
