Welcoming several thousand people in front of the Old Palace in Belgrade, our women’s basketball team, which won the European Championship in Valencia on Sunday, was a unique experience for young basketball players.
“I have never experienced something like that before. I watched other athletes on TV and I didn’t even think that I would be there. It was really impressive,” said Andjela Dugalic.
The young basketball players also commented on their game during the championship, emphasizing the importance of such an experience.
“This is a great incentive for my further work and development. This year that I spent with these girls means a lot to me,” said Masha Janković.
Andjela Dugalic and Masha Jankovic talked about the atmosphere in the team, as well as about the preparations before each match in the championship. They especially emphasized the support of the entire team and the selector Marina Maljković, who showed them confidence and provided them with support when it was most needed.
Speaking about the upcoming Olympic Games, the young basketball players wished all the best to the men’s basketball team, believing that they would win. at the qualifying tournament.
They pointed out that participating in the games will be an extremely great and significant experience for them, and added that our women’s basketball team has already shown that it will be a great competitor at the games.
“Every athlete’s dream is to go to the Olympic Games. We now have a little time to rest, and then we go to new victories. We have shown that we are a serious team and that we will be a strong competitor,” concluded our champions.
