VUCIC: Unvaccinated people should not have been treated completely free of charge! We could have done that without being against the Constitution
Today, at the Belgrade Fair, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, received the third dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus and again appealed to the citizens to be vaccinated.

He said that he was taking part of the blame for the fact that the state did not, as he said, bring the smartest solutions in the fight against the epidemic in time.
“We could have done, without being against the Constitution, treating the vaccinated for free, and treating the unvaccinated for free, but only up to the amount of paid health contributions annually, and the rest to be paid. That would be absolutely fair. Unfortunately, I did not remember that in time or we believed too much in the conscience and responsibility of the people. It has now failed and can no longer be implemented, “Vucic said.
He added that on average, health contributions amount to 500-550 euros per year, which, as he said, is slightly less than the cost of one day of hospital treatment.
“If we had done that, we would have had better results in vaccination, but now we can only appeal to the citizens to get vaccinated,” said the President of Serbia.
He announced that health workers will receive the largest salary increase in 2022, as well as that an additional award is being considered for medics who have borne the greatest burden of fighting the epidemic.
