FIBA pointed out the greatest recognition to the trophy-winning Serbian coach Svetislav “Karija” Pesic.
Svetislav Pesic was elected to the FIBA Hall of Fame as a member of the 2020 class, reports Mozzartsport.
As a player, Pesic was a member of Pirot, Partizan and Sarajevo Bosnia, and only three years after playing, he will start a successful coaching career.
Perhaps his greatest success was winning a gold medal at the World Championships in Indianapolis in 2002, when the Yugoslav national team won the title by eliminating the favorite and host of the United States of America.
Pesic won the Euroleague with Barcelona in 2003, and in 2007 he won the Eurocup with Djinor, while in 1995 he won the Korac Cup with Alba.
In 2018, he took over the stumbled Barcelona and completely turned the season around for them, and because of his success, in 2019 he was named coach of the year in Spain.
Entering the FIBA Hall of Fame would be the icing on the cake of Svetislav Kari Pesic’s exceptional career.
