According to the Ministry of Labor, improvement work has started on the sanitary drainage network in the Shahrakan region. Shahrakan is a village in the west of the Kingdom of Bahrain, south of the village of Malkiya. It has a population of around 3,000 people.
The works, which are part of an integrated system of drainage services, will service blocks 1042, 1044, 1213 in Shahrakan, said Fathi Abdulla Al Farea, director of the Plumbing Planning and Projects Directorate at the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning.
As part of the work, the ministry will improve the E3G pumping station, develop new connecting pipes and replace 110 meters of sewer pipes to supply 400 properties and residential units. The Gulf Horizons Company for excavation and equipment rental is contracting the project, which costs 221,664,000 dinars.
