The Russian high-tech company “Kronstadt” will start the production of helicopter-type drones, the general director of the company, Sergei Bogatikov, told Sputnik at the International Aerospace Salon “MAX-2021”.
“We bought the scientific-production company ‘Strela’. In addition to drones, we are starting preparations for the production of drones in our factory, which is being built in Dubna. These are drones of large dimensions – one type will have a takeoff weight of about 600 kilograms, and the other about 1.5 tons, “said Bogatikov.
As he added, separate plants of the Machine Plant in Dubna will be included in the production of helicopter unmanned aerial vehicles, where points for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles from the ground will also be produced.
One of the company’s tasks in connection with the production of new unmanned aerial vehicles is to integrate control panels for unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopter type.
“This is important for solving tactical tasks: an unmanned aerial vehicle will perform the role of a target marker and repeater, while unmanned helicopters will perform their tasks,” Bogatikov explained.
The company “Kronstadt” is building the first plant for serial production of unmanned aerial vehicles in Russia in Dubna. The company should start operating in November this year. Among other things, the reconnaissance and strike drones “Orion”, which are being bought by the Ministry of Defense of Russia, will be installed in that factory.
