Nuclear security has never been a more topical topic, and it will be the backbone of discussions at the 66th session of the General Assembly of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The members will consider the improvement of radiation protection measures in the event of an accident, as well as a more efficient exchange of information in emergency situations, the progress of nuclear technology, climate change and the use of nuclear energy in solving the world energy crisis will also be discussed.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, was at the opening and warned that it is necessary to make the protective zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and that it is the only solution to prevent an incident that would only increase the suffering of citizens.
As part of the IAEA General Conference, many events will be held at the UN headquarters in Vienna, including the opening of exhibitions.
This is how the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Culture Maja Gojković will open the exhibition “Nikola Tesla – key contribution to energy”.
“The exhibition is very important and attracts a lot of attention because it is about Nikola Tesla, a scientist who has put the whole world in debt. This 66th conference is dedicated to green energy and sustainable development, and our exhibition has the same message and direction,” Gojković said to RTS .
According to her, Nikola Tesla was one of the pioneers of this topic because all his patents were directed to energy saving.
“He was a visionary and as if he knew that the burden of wealth and abundance in terms of energy is today a topic that the whole world should think about. When Grossi found out that Serbia would have an exhibition about Nikola Tesla, he made the decision to participate in the ceremony opening. The state’s task is to preserve cultural heritage such as the legacy of Nikola Tesla,” the minister emphasized.
There will be another 80 programs within the framework of the General Assembly.
