Liverpool proprietor: I remorse that I “dragged” the membership into the Tremendous League
Liverpool owner John Henry apologized today to the fans, football players and coach Jurgen Klopp for the decision for the club to participate in the establishment of the European Super League.
– I want to apologize to all Liverpool fans and admirers for the disturbance I caused in the last 48 hours. That goes without saying, but it is also important to say – this project should never have remained in force without the support of the fans. No one in England thought otherwise. During these 48 hours, you have clearly told us that there will be no support and that the project will not survive. We heard you, I heard you – said Henry, Reuters reports.
Liverpool decided to give up their participation in the Super League during the night, and the owner of the club admitted in a video message that he sincerely regrets that he involved the club in this project.
– I want to apologize to Jurgen, the players, everyone who works at the club very hard so that our fans would be proud of the club. None of them have any responsibility for this harassment. It was the hardest for them and it is not fair and it hurts me the most – said the owner of Liverpool.
– They love this club and work to make you proud every day. I know that the whole of Liverpool has the knowledge and desire to restore the trust of the fans with their work and help us progress – he added.
Henry added that more than a decade ago, when he came to the club, he “dreamed the same dreams” together with the fans, and that they have been working hard all these years to improve the club.
– I hope you understand that even when we make mistakes we just want to work in the best interest of your club. I let you down and I’m very sorry about that. I alone am responsible for the unnecessary negative energy that has accumulated in the previous days, it is something I will never forget. That shows the strength of the fans – Henry concluded.
