The art group Filipino Creatives Bahrain received a certificate of appreciation from the Philippine embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Filipino Ambassador Alfonso Ver and the director of the cultural center JieMarie Mortel-Ladrica presented the group with the certificate.
At the same time, the newly elected board members of the group took their oath for the year 2021 in the presence of Ambassador Ver and Mortel-Ladrica.
In attendance were founding members Catherine Paje and Newlife Sarah Macarambon, who presented the certificate of appreciation and supported the new officials.
Filipino Creatives Bahrain is the first and only Filipino arts group to be accredited by the Culture Bureau of the Philippine Embassy. It has exhibited its works in Bahrain since its inception in 2018, including some of the largest art exhibitions
in the kingdom like “Bahrain Through Our Eyes”, “Ma Art’e” and “Crosscurrent: A Fusion of Art and Culture”.
For this year, the group plans to hold an all-Filipino art exhibition on the occasion of Philippine Independence Day in June, and later this year another major visual arts exhibition together with international artists at the Bahrain Art Center.
The Filipino Creatives Officers 2021 are: Hajji Celi Refugio (President), Alberto A. Magsuci (Vice President), Maria Carmella R. Solido (Secretary), Aren Joy M. Salazar (Treasurer), Karlo Angelo V. Papa (Auditor), Rudy D. Perey (Sgt. At Arms), Rodrigo C. Masaque (Sgt. At Arms), Emmanuel Joseph M. Reyes (PRO) and Kieran B. Calvelo (PRO).
