Austrian national team player Aleksandar Dragović joined the Red Star after excellent games at the European Championship and placement in the eighth finals.
Upon his arrival among the red and whites, he shared his first impressions.
– Everything is great, the team accepted me phenomenally. I was a little nervous because I didn’t know what the players were like, I knew Borjan and Degenek from before, but everything is extremely good and I am happy to be here – said Dragović and added:
– We did not hope that we would play the championship so well. I think we played a fantastic game against Italy and it is a great pity that we did not go further. I support Italy to become the champion, so that we can at least say that we lost to the champion – Dragović pointed out for the club’s website.
Dragović added that he received support from fans through social networks.
– I took a look on Instagram and saw their comments. I know how it goes in football, today you are great, and tomorrow if you make a mistake, everyone is ugly, so I know all that.
He expressed hope that the audience would return to the stadium.
– They have not been here for more than a year and their return will mean a lot to us. We will do our best for them and the Red Star – said Dragović.
