First participation and immediately the best: Dunja Tadić

On the occasion of the Day of Slavic Literacy, the Embassy of Serbia in FR Germany announced a literary competition on “My language, my world – why I learn Serbian”, intended for students of the Supplementary School organized by the Ministry of Education of Serbia and children of Serbian origin in Germany. and Cyrillic. The works were sent by 117 students from all over Germany, and in such a strong competition, the 12 most successful ones were chosen.

The first place in the category from 1st to 4th grade was won by Sofija Dimitrieski, a 4th grade student from Berlin. The first prize in the category of students from 5th to 8th grade was won by student Dunja Tadić from Freiburg, while in the same category the second and fourth prizes were won by Ana Ivanji from Feuerbach and Mila Tripković from Reutlingen, all three students of additional classes in Serbian in the province. Baden-Württemberg.

Dunja Tadić, 7th grade students, this is her first participation in a literary competition and she immediately won first place.

– I am happy and proud that my work was declared the best. I did not expect that, especially since I had not sent compositions to competitions related to the Serbian language before, although I wrote them, so I did not know where I could include my work and what to compare it with. The topic was not easy, but I love Serbia very much, traveling around it and hanging out with dear people. Mom and Dad are persistent in showing me as much as possible the beauties and history of our country and the advantages of staying in two cities (Valjevo and Belgrade), so I decided to write what I experienced, what I do and what I said and will do. I speak, think and sing in Serbian, I love it very much and I am glad to be able to express my emotions and everything I want in it.

She points out that she would very much like the conditions to allow her to go to Berlin for the award ceremony.

– If it can’t be done by the end of June (which I don’t believe), maybe it will be possible in the fall. The departure itself would be great, because I want to meet other students who participated in this competition. Who knows, maybe later we will meet at another competition or award ceremony, maybe we will start seeing each other and hanging out in Serbia or Republika Srpska, somewhere on the Drina, where it is wonderful. This award encouraged me to try out in other competitions as well.

In second place in the competition of students from fifth to eighth grade is Ana Ivanji from Feuerbach.

– I am very happy because of the award, especially because I see pride and joy on the faces of my parents – says Ana, who attends the seventh grade and is a very successful student.

Before the crown, she was looking forward to every trip to a Serbian school, and she is very motivated to participate in online classes. She speaks Serbian fluently, even though she was born and raised in Germany.

Happy for the award: Ana Ivanji

Students for example

Mila Tripković took the fourth place in the competition of older students. For her and Ana, their teacher Jovana Knezevic says that they are students that every teacher can wish for.

– They are hardworking, persistent, responsible and very creative. They gladly participate in all activities, and their works can be seen in numerous collections of supplementary classes in the Serbian language.

Written in one breath

– The literary competition “My language, my world” was a challenge for me and my students. They were very inspired by the topic and wrote the texts, it seems to me, in one breath. Reading their works, I felt that they come from the heart and soul of a person who, although born and raised in Germany, loves and experiences the Serbian language as his only home – points out teacher Knezevic.
