Assaults on SOC amenities in Kosovo and Metohija have an ethnic and non secular background!

The statement of the diocese estimates that the latest wave of violence is not only, as the temporary Kosovo institutions like to say, a part of everyday life in which there are robberies in mosques, but that they mostly have an ethnic and religious background.

According to them, these attacks are directed specifically against a community whose presence obviously bothers someone.

The diocese reminds that on St. George’s Day, unknown persons tried to remove the church flag (tricolor) from the bell tower from the bell tower of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Klokot, and that money and church valuables were stolen from the church in Partesh.

The church in Drajkovac near Štrpce was also robbed, as well as the church of St. Demetrius in Donja Bitinja, and the biggest damage was done next to the church in Vitomirica, where construction material worth 4,000 euros was stolen.

In the protected zone of the church of the Most Holy Mother of God in Lipljan, the priest reported the stoning of the church to the police, and during that incident, the window on the church from the 14th century was broken.

According to the announcement of the diocese, the priest reported the incident to the police, but there was no reaction because the police officers on duty did not know Serbian, and UMNIK and international representatives were informed about the incident.

A few days ago, the church of St. John the Baptist in the center of Peja, known as the “Metropolitanate”, was stoned, and on that occasion, a window was broken.

Stating that the attackers entered the church port allegedly provided by the police or shot at the church from a nearby building, the statement warns that the priest who lives alone in the parish home next to the church is worried because that church, like many others, was set on fire. and desecrated in the great Albanian riots of 2004.

The diocese points out that the previously reported attacks and robberies, which the police allegedly took over for investigation, have not been resolved, or at least the Diocese has not been informed about it, nor has the damage been compensated.

The diocese will inform the head of the European Mission in Kosovo and the head of the EULEX mission, as well as the ambassadors Quinto, but also the representatives of KFOR about the latest attacks.

“Complaints to Kosovo institutions are pointless because this violence is the product of aggressive rhetoric coming from the very top of Kosovo institutions, which instead of solving the problems of the population, economy and facing the Kovid pandemic, attack Serbia every day with the worst words and collectively accuse the Serbian people. and our Church “, it is stated in the announcement.

It is added that such behavior directly produces a dangerous potential for violence, and that the pressure on Serbs complicates the daily life of our people, who have already lost all trust in the police and institutions of Kosovo Albanians due to disrespect of laws and court decisions.

The Diocese will ask the international representatives for additional protection from violations of basic religious and human rights, and they expect the Serbian institutions, which they state to help them regularly, to initiate the solution of their problems at a higher international level.
