Man G. L., suspected of running over two boys, aged nine and four, and their father, on Sunday night, and then fleeing, he was arrested earlier today.
His arrest followed the decision of the First Basic Court in Belgrade, which changed the decision of the judge for the previous procedure, according to which Mr. L. released to defend himself, and ordered his detention for up to 30 days.
At the place where they are the accident happened, in Mariana Gregoran Street in Karaburma, and tonight the citizens gathered, who continue the protests, which started last night after news of the death of a nine-year-old boy.
They say that they will continue the blockade of the street and demand that those responsible for the boy’s death be imputed.
They are also seeking the criminal responsibility of the judge for the previous procedure which made the decision to L. defends freedom. They say they will stay on the street until the judge is arrested.
In the meantime, the Minister of Justice also spoke Maja Popović, who welcomed the decision of the First Basic Court, adding that he would initiate a review of the existence of liability with the acting pre-trial judge.
