The ambition is for BIO4 CAMPUS to become the first such campus in the wider region as a recognizable point on the global map of development in the fields of biomedicine, bioinformatics, biotechnology and biodiversity.
“These are areas of special interest for the Republic of Serbia, and technological progress substantially changes the current approach to health and represents, in addition to raising the quality of life of the population, a significant opportunity for the economic development of our country,” the statement said.
In order to progress all segments of society through digitalization, raising the level of knowledge and creating a safe environment that encourages citizens to recognize the benefits of digitalization, the Government of Serbia adopted the Strategy for Information Society Development and Information Security in the Republic of Serbia for 2021-2026.
This strategic document will provide further improvement of digital knowledge and skills of citizens, increase of information security and capacity of employees in the public and private sector for the use of new technologies, as well as improvement of digital infrastructure in educational institutions.
The members of the government adopted the amended Decree on the limit values of emissions of pollutants into the air from stationary sources of pollution, except for combustion plants with the aim of improving air quality by reducing pollution.
The aim of these changes is to improve the reporting process of the Environmental Protection Agency, so that in the coming period, documents will be submitted to the National Register of Pollution Sources (NRIZ) exclusively in electronic form.
“By its example, the agency will influence other parts of the state administration and local self-government to switch to a modern system of complete electronic business and thus make a significant contribution to environmental protection,” the government said in a statement.
At today’s session, the Government of Serbia declared the protection of the Landscape of Outstanding Features “Maljen” and in this way ensured the preservation of natural forest ecosystems with diverse and specific composition of flora and fauna, rocky vegetation, rare and endangered animal species, as well as significant cultural and historical values.
Support and assistance to the Hilandar Monastery
At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Serbia also adopted the Bill on Preservation of the Cultural and Historical Heritage of the Hilandar Monastery, which regulates the manner of providing support and assistance to the Republic of Serbia to the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of this monastery.
The Hilandar Monastery, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is of inestimable value for the Serbian historical heritage and represents a unique center of Serbian spirituality, culture, education and tradition.
The Government of Serbia adopted the Bill on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on Cooperation in the Field of Disaster Protection in order to improve cooperation in this field and provide mutual assistance in case of disasters.
In the interest of cooperation between the two countries, the session adopted the Bill on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on War Memorials.
