One of the nine brothers of Empress Milica, according to the belief, died during the withdrawal from Kosovo at that very place, and then he was buried there.
“The Serbian army withdrew from the fighting in Kosovo over this area, and the place is known as the Palibrac grave. It is believed that Empress Milica formed a reception hospital there to treat the wounded. Her brother Boško Jugović died of his wounds and she failed to save him.

When Bosko passed away, he was buried on the place where the church was built today, and it is believed that Empress Milica planted nine oaks there, as part of nine of her brothers, of which there are now seven, “Milanko Boskovic, a tourism expert from Ivanjica, told RINA.

“There was an initiative to do a DNA analysis of those relics, which, if it proved that it was really about Bosko Jugovic, could turn this place into a sacred one and position it on the tourist map of Serbia.” Few people know that there is a church and a grave here.
Only they are true lovers of history. What is interesting is that the Empress’ water is also nearby, which is believed to be healing. “People come here on Vidovdan before the sun, to wash themselves, and according to the locals, she helped many,” says Milanko.

The church was built by a local, Blagoje Luković, and it still says “I am building this church on the grave of Boško Jugović”. The village in which it is located was also named after the Kosovo legend, because after burying her brother, the empress and the rest of the army went down to the valley of the river Moravica, where a temporary camp was organized. A large number of warriors died there and real misery reigned, hence the name of the village Bedina varoš.
