These days, sunny and very pleasant weather prevails in Serbia. Temperatures are real summer and are around the average values for the middle of summer. So, these days, temperatures in Serbia generally have values from 26 to 30 ° C, in Belgrade it is around 28 ° C, while the average values of maximum daily temperatures for this time of year are from 28 to 32 ° C. The nights are very pleasant and pleasant, even in many areas and fresh.
By the way, after almost a month of very dry weather with temperatures very often above 35 ° C, which reached 39-40 ° C, a high-altitude cyclone from the southern Adriatic brought us from last Thursday to Tuesday very heavy rainfall, but also local, but strong thunderstorms with hail and stormy wind. The rains came at the last minute as a salvation for agricultural crops, because a huge deficit of precipitation was previously recorded.
In many parts of Serbia, 20 to 80 mm of rain fell per square meter, locally and more, especially in the zones of thunderstorms. The most rain fell in parts of central and northeastern Serbia, especially in Pomoravlje, and the record holder is Smederevska Palanka with over 150 mm. That is the amount of rain that falls on average in two months in this part of the year, and it fell in 4 days. In some locations in Serbia, thunderstorms brought over 50 and even up to 90 mm of rain per square meter in just a few hours, which led to local floods, due to the inability of drainage systems to accept a huge amount of atmospheric water in a very short time interval.
Fortunately, there were no river overflows, thanks to the previous drought, and the high-altitude cyclone, which reached the Adriatic from Germany, has meanwhile transformed and significantly weakened.
In Serbia today, but also on Saturday, under the influence of slightly increased air pressure, it will be sunny and warm, with very pleasant temperatures. They will not exceed 30 ° C and will range from 26 to 30 ° C, in Belgrade to 28 ° C, while the nights and mornings will be very pleasant and fresh.
However, as early as Sunday, due to the ridges from North Africa, an increase in the southwest altitude current and the inflow of very warm air mass from that area is expected. The advection of this hot air will be especially pronounced at the beginning of next week, because there will be a cyclone over Western Europe, which will cause an additional influx of warm air in its front part. At the same time, there will be a field of high air pressure above our area at altitude, with additional warming of the atmosphere. Due to this synoptic situation, cyclones and cloud and precipitation systems will not be able to penetrate from the Atlantic Ocean and from the west of Europe to the Balkan Peninsula and Serbia, but will move west and north of our area and the Alps.
It will be sunny and warmer in Serbia on Sunday and at the beginning of next week, and very warm in the middle of next week. In the afternoon and before the end of the day, local showers with thunder are expected to appear in some places with stronger development of convective clouds. A strong southeast wind will blow in the Košava area on Sunday and Monday, and on Tuesday the Košava will be weakening.
Maximum temperature on Sunday from 30 to 34 ° C, in Belgrade up to 32 ° C, and on Monday up to 35 ° C. The hottest will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures from 35 to 40 ° C, in Belgrade around 37 ° C. The warmest will be in the east of Serbia and in the area of Negotinska Krajina. From Monday, we will again have very warm and unpleasant nights, because the temperatures in Belgrade and in the north and east of Serbia will not fall below 20 ° C, that is. tropical nights are expected again (Tmin> 20 ° C).
According to current forecasts, there will be a slight drop in temperatures on Thursday and Friday, but it will still be very warm. No significant precipitation is expected until the end of July, although there will be isolated local showers with thunder only in some places.
We are in the middle of summer. After a month of very high temperatures and dry weather, in the previous period we refreshed ourselves, with significant amounts of precipitation, and these days we are enjoying a real and moderate flight, suitable for our area. Although temperatures and a new heat wave with temperatures next week and over 35 ° C are expected from Sunday and Monday, we should not panic, because it is summer and we just need to adapt again to high temperatures and all the potential dangers they bring.
