The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, addressed the Conference on the Results and Possibilities of IPA Funds in Serbia “Serbia and the EU: Support for Development and Membership Negotiations”.

– Thank you for the opportunity to address today, to look once again at the results that we are so common in every part of Serbia, with the exceptional financial assistance of the European Union and our willingness to participate with significant budget funds, achieved in our complex but for society and citizens an important European path. I want to emphasize that we appreciate every dinar and every euro that arrived in our country from the European Union – the President of Serbia pointed out at the beginning of his address.

– I think that so far we have taken this help seriously and responsibly – said Vučić.

– Membership negotiations and reform activities within these negotiations are a significant impetus for our general, economic and social progress, but they are also a condition for further sustainable growth and development as a whole, to which I am personally committed as President of Serbia. I am obliged to take care of all issues of sustainable growth and development of all our citizens and all parts of our country in an equally fair way. That is why we will include all potentials, all extraordinary human capacities, and that is why we are already transforming education into lifelong learning that connects the needs of the labor market with profiles that are being educated, using two new levers – digitalization and green transition – he said.

After the address of the President of Serbia, the statement of the European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Oliver Varhej, who could not directly join the conference, was read.

In addition to him, the Minister of European Integration in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Jadranka Joksimović, and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, Sema Fabricio, are also scheduled to address the conference.
