U.S. police and intelligence agencies investigated today the connection of the Americans with the assassination of the President of Haiti, Jounel Moise.

The commando unit, which killed Moiza and seriously wounded his wife this week, consisted of 26 Colombians and two Americans from Haiti, the Haitian authorities stated earlier today.

Haitian police have identified two American suspects as James Soledges, 35, and Vincent Joseph, 55, Reuters reports.

Two sources from the American police, who asked to remain anonymous because the investigation is still ongoing, said that the American agencies are investigating the connection between the USA and the assassination, but they refused to comment on the two suspects.

According to the source, American agencies are not participating in the investigation in Haiti because the officials of that country did not ask for their help.

A third source confirmed that American agencies are investigating the murder.

Solages described himself on the Internet as a “certified diplomatic agent” and a former chief of bodyguards at the Canadian embassy in Haiti.

The data available to the public states that Solages lived in Tamarak, Florida, and that he has no criminal record.

To date, not much information has been available about Vincent Joseph.

Haitian officials have not yet announced the motives for the president’s assassination, and since taking office in 2017, he has faced mass protests, first because of allegations of corruption and the way he managed the economy.

Mois, 53, was killed on the night of July 6-7 at his private residence, and his wife, Martin Marie Etienne Joseph, who was wounded in the attack, is in critical condition and was taken to a hospital in Miami.
