The first deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, led a delegation on a three-day official visit to Ghana.

The visit in return for the visit by the Ghanaian foreign ministers to Serbia in August 2018 is intended to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.

At a meeting of the two ministers, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness to reopen an embassy in the Republic of Serbia in due course.

She also praised the contributions of the Republic of Serbia to the economic development of Ghana, in particular the construction of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) by the company EnergoProjekt.

The Minister took the opportunity to highlight some of the government’s flagship programs aimed at restructuring the economy and creating jobs for the youth, such as the One District, One Factory and Growing for Food and Jobs initiatives.

She also invited Serbian investors to work with the government and the private sector to set up agricultural processing plants in Ghana.

During his visit, Ivica Dacic is expected to meet members of the judiciary and a number of ministers, including the Defense and Agriculture Ministers and the Minister of State for Education.
