They enjoy love: Dejan and Jelena

There are many reasons why people decide to move to faraway Australia. For decades, they came from our region for economic, political, humanitarian, adventurous, but also for love reasons.

However, when someone in his best years, as a formed person, famous and above all successful, leaves Belgrade and decides to move to Australia for love, then it is much more than love.

Dejan Vračević is a successful businessman, homeopath and – Dorćolac. About five years ago, he left Belgrade and moved to Sydney – because of one Jelena.

All of us who have had the opportunity to live in the Serbian capital, understand its magic and sometimes it seems impossible to live somewhere else, except in Belgrade. That is why we first asked Dejan if he missed the cobblestones of Dorćol, Kalemegdan, the Danube, the Sava…

– Belgrade is always missing when you are not in it, but love prevailed. In a way, I left everything after so many years of living in the most beautiful city in the world, so now I carry my Belgrade and my Dorcol in my heart – says Dejan Vračević.

So, the connection with Belgrade is unbreakable?

– Yes, especially because my daughter lives there, and one of my businesses, homeopathy, is active. Now it is, admittedly, on a reduced scale, mostly online, but it is my calling, job, hobby, all in one. I am a graduate of homeopathy and president of the Phoenix Homeopathic Association.

For those who are not well acquainted, what is homeopathy?

– Homeopathy is a medical system founded by the German doctor and chemist Samuel Christian Hahnemann, and it is based on eight principles. These are vital or life force, receptivity, miasms, the law of similarity, proving, potentiating, giving only one medicine and the direction of healing or Herring’s law. The name homeopathy comes from the Greek words “homeo”, which means “similar”, and “pathos”, which means “suffering”.

What is the method of treatment for hopeopathy?

– The method in which the above eight principles are fully respected is called classical homeopathy. Over time, many other methods of treatment have evolved from homeopathy, which, although they have similarities with homeopathy, are not really so because they are not based on eight basic principles.

When you talk about the law of similarity, what exactly does it refer to?

– The law of similarity reads: any substance that causes certain physical, emotional or mental symptoms in a healthy person will cure the same symptoms if they occur as a result of the disease. The law of similarity was first applied in treatment by the Swiss doctor, scientist and philosopher Paracelsus in the 16th century.

So aren’t we just talking about the physical?

– Homeopathy is not limited by the physical level of existence, but acknowledges the existence of levels that cannot be perceived from our five senses. According to the homeopathic philosophy, man is a vital force, ie energy that manifests on three levels: mental, emotional and physical.

What is the ideal state or as you say – balance?

– Balance is a natural state vital forces, and is manifested by complete mental, emotional and physical health. However, under the influence of various influences, the vital force can go out of balance, and that is what is considered a disease in homeopathy. This disease will manifest on a mental, emotional or physical level with certain symptoms, and this manifestation is what is considered a disease in classical medicine.

Is there a conflict with classical medicine?

– By seeing man as energy, homeopathy does not deny the understandings of classical medicine, but on the contrary complements them, going into the realm of living beings that are unknown to classical medicine. Homeopathy and classical medicine are complementary medical systems, that is, they complement each other.

Have you registered an internship in Sydney?

– Not yet, and I’m not sure if I will. In addition to the still great language barrier, the problem is that they do not recognize anything from abroad in the field of medicine, even when, as in this case, it is about natural medicine.

Does that mean you can’t help people even though you have vast knowledge?

– I am working on the nostrification of the diploma, I am looking for the opportunity to register a business that the local law allows, and which is close to the area of my expertise, so there is still a way to be of use to the Serbian community.

Did you go to Belgrade for these four in Australia?

– Last year I traveled to Serbia for work, and I returned in November.

So you went through mandatory quarantine?

– Yes, and it was much harder than I expected. I am a free man, always on the move, and I had to be locked in one room for 15 days. I used the time to work on myself, to feel once again how much it means what we long for when we are limited in movement. It is about freedom, about love, about family and the realization that you are in fact powerless, without even knowing when you are fighting. I respect all the rules of this country, as well as my country, Serbia, but I felt all the nonsense of everything in those 15 days of quarantine.

A cure for man, not a disease

What is the difference between homeopathic and classical medicine?

– Homeopathic medicine is not a medicine for a disease, as is the case with a classic medicine, but a medicine for a person. There is no homeopathic remedy for bronchitis, psoriasis, allergies, insomnia, depression, nervousness, or any disease, but only for man as a unity of soul, mind, feelings and body. Homeopathy cures man, not disease.

He left cigarettes in quarantine

What did you find out about yourself and others in quarantine?

– I overcame my big vice, cigarettes. You know, it’s much more common in our country for people to look for pleasure in cigarette smoke than here. Maybe it’s because of the price, maybe because of the perception of health, but to me as someone who has been a smoker for decades, leaving it was like a great gift and today I am happy that it all happened that way. Today, I am a free man when it comes to addiction to tobacco smoke.
