Bonirig striker Asmir Kadrić
In the season that is practically over for Bonirig, the White Eagles suffered another defeat. This time away at Hills United in Blacktown – 0: 1.
Jordan Prafajt’s goal before the end of the first part of the game was enough for the host to take all the spoils and to equalize the points with the Serbian team.
The season, which could have been a turning point in the recent history of the largest Serbian club in Australia, still ended sooner than anyone expected.
Last week’s 3: 1 defeat by Hakoe sealed the fate of the Eagles and left them only theoretical chances that with crazy luck and a combination of the strangest circumstances, they can reach the fourth place and promotion to a higher rank. Now, even that crazy luck couldn’t help.
To make matters worse, the defeat by Hills United is more painful when it is known that this is a team that did not know about the victory in the last five matches.
Bonirig’s players did their best to equalize, but the point was not reached either. Again the most dangerous was Asmir Kadrić, who again came in from the bench and was the closest to the goal on two occasions, but first missed the opportunity one on one, and then shot over the goal, when he could play a return for Anthony Costa.
In the end, only one victory from the last seven matches is the burden that the Eagles carry on their heavy wings and which in a way determined the outcome of this match as well.
Next Saturday, Bonirig will host the penultimate team on the table, the Spartans from Blacktown. A victory would mean a lot on the psychological level, but it is unlikely that those three points could significantly change the course of a very bad season for the favorite Serbian club in New South Wales.
