Passions are still not calming down due to the conflict between Marko Arnautovic and Ezdzan Alioski, and the Football Federation of Northern Macedonia is demanding the most severe punishment.
It is still not clear what happened after the third goal of Austria, and the alleged nationalist outburst of the attacker of Serbian origin is mentioned. “The Football Association of Macedonia strongly condemns the nationalist outburst of the Austrian national team player Marko Arnautovic, after the goal scored in yesterday’s game. At the same time, we would like to inform you that we have sent an official letter to UEFA asking for the most severe punishment for Arnautovic. As a ‘house of football’, we are always against nationalism, discrimination and all other forms of insults and outbursts that are not in the spirit of football and the values we all stand for together, “the Macedonian federation said in a statement.
Arnautovic has already apologized and said that he is not a racist. However, he faces a heavy sentence if it is determined that there were nationalist outbursts.
Austria will be welcomed by the Netherlands in the next match, while Macedonia will play Ukraine.
