Spain has no plans to open an office in Pristina, as Albanian media recently reported.
“Spain’s position on non-recognition of the declaration of independence, which Pristina adopted in 2008, has not changed and will not change unless the issue is resolved through dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina,” the Spanish Foreign Ministry told Kosovo online.
The Spanish Ministry stated that the resumption of the dialogue is considered good news.
“It is necessary to seize the moment and try to reach an acceptable agreement for both sides and respecting international law. To achieve this goal, we have Mr. Josep Borelj, who is very interested in helping resolve the conflict, and EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak, whom we fully support. “For our part, we are ready to cooperate, as much as we can, in these efforts, because the priority of Spain is political stability and economic prosperity of the Balkans,” the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out.
