TIRANA, March 18 – A 66-year-old man from Lushnje died on Wednesday morning as a result of the coronavirus. The victim was held in intensive care at Shefqet Ndroqi Hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus a few days ago. The Ministry of Health said the 66-year-old had health problems related to his heart, lungs and kidneys.
This is the second COVID-19 victim after the 73-year-old woman in Durres who died last week. The first victim also had health problems, similar to the second victim.
Four new cases of the coronavirus have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 59. So far, 665 suspected cases have been tested in Albania and 30 infected patients have been hospitalized. Three of them are currently in intensive care.
There are a total of 42 confirmed cases in Tirana, five in Durres (including the first victim), six in Fier, two in Lushnje (including the second victim), two in Elbasan and two in Rrogozhina.
