American message from Ukraine: You will need to restrain Russia

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who is visiting Kiev, talked with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleb about the prospects for strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, including through NATO, said State Department spokesman Ned Price.

“The parties discussed co-operation between the United States and Ukraine on common priorities, including building an even closer partnership and expanding co-operation through NATO,” he said.

The statement added that during the meeting, the US Secretary of State expressed “concern over Russia’s intentional actions aimed at escalating tensions in relations with Ukraine, and especially emphasized the efforts to curb Russia’s aggressive behavior.”

Blinken met in Kiev with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleb.
