The first round of the group stage of the Champions League was marked by the triumph of Bayern Munich over Inter at the “Giuseppe Meazza” with 2:0, Robert Lewandowski’s first hat-trick for Barcelona, but also Liverpool’s debacle in Naples. The “Reds” lost in Maradona’s home against Napoli with a big 4:1, while Barcelona was even more convincing against Viktoria Plzeň (5:1). Lewandowski scored three goals and immediately announced that he would again like the title of the best scorer of the competition. Tottenham beat Olympique de Marseille 2:0, Club Brugge started their performance with a minimal triumph over Bayer Leverkusen, while Atlético Madrid beat Porto 2:1 in the 101st minute.
