The President of the Republic knows the name of the representative, but he will wait until tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning to announce it. He sees cooperation with traditional allies as real cooperation. Due to the crisis in the world, there is no dilemma – a government of responsible people is needed, he says.
“This is the first government formed by the SNS, which will immediately face the world economic and political crisis. Such a crisis will certainly look for different people,” says Bojan Klačar from Cesid.
President Aleksandar Vučić also spoke about the difficult situation in which Serbia finds itself.
“You know, when Great Britain and Finland announce a power cut, it’s no longer Pristina or North Macedonia, it’s the most developed European and world countries. As citizens, we pay the price of electricity 41 euros per megawatt hour, and when we import it, it costs us 630 euros per megawatt hour. In these very difficult circumstances for us, in which you have to endure untruths and direct attacks on our population in Kosovo, in order to preserve peace, to preserve stability, but also to manage to ensure a safe winter,” said Vučić.
Regardless of the challenges that will be faced by the new cabinet at Nemanjina 11, political scientists do not expect major changes in the conduct of internal, but perhaps more importantly, foreign policy.
Changes will be sought, but they will be responded to gradually, they say. One of the important messages we heard yesterday from the leaders of the progressives is that some of them asked for the sharing of responsibilities.
“I think that this is one of the political strategic goals of the new government, that is, the new mandate. So, to share the responsibility. So far, we have had successes, problems, and responsibility on the part of the SNS. It seems to me that in the coming period, the SNS will tries to share that responsibility with others, and even good and bad results”, believes Despot Kovačević, docent at the Faculty of Political Sciences.
“If Ana Brnabić or Miloš Vučević become prime minister, which will most certainly be the case, for the first time in the past 10 years, SNS will have all four most important functions in Serbia directly from its membership – mayor, president of the Assembly, prime minister, president,” notes Klačar. .
Movement of chess pieces
The diplomatic chess party – that’s how the first term of the new government seems to be seen. Until now, the figures on it have moved along the lines of basic interests.
“On the issue of potential sanctions against the Russian Federation, on the issue of the non-introduction of sanctions, on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, on the issue of economic or energy measures that can be very difficult for the citizens as well. All of that will be on the agenda. The president indicated yesterday that the most important issues payment of salaries and pensions and investments.
