“Slovenian racing is very complicated for machines from Serbia, here is the European Union, so we have a lot of competition, but it sells well,” says Matija Zaletel, a businessman from Slovenia.
In Slovenia, according to data from the Association of Young Farmers, less than five percent of people under the age of 35 opt for that occupation as their primary occupation. The president of the association is engaged in fruit growing, there is also wheat and barley on the family farm.
“You can make a living from agriculture, when it is market-oriented, we sell directly to the customer, this way of direct sales requires a lot of effort and commitment,” says Anja Magar from the Association of Young Farmers.
Young farmers are in the center of attention at the 60th fair in Slovenia.
“I always say, fairs are necessary, because not only because you have the latest technologies, mechanization, we have the latest models of combines, tractors, robots that are used now, drones, all these interesting technologies, you can’t see that on a computer, that it’s not the same, people want to see it,” says Boris Nikola Serjavec, executive director of the Pomurski fair.
Gornja Radgona has about 3,500 inhabitants. During the fair days, it hosts visitors and exhibitors from 30 countries.
