Darya Dugina, the daughter of the famous Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin, was killed in a car explosion in the suburbs of Moscow on Saturday evening. This was confirmed to the TASS agency by Andrey Krasnov, leader of the Russian Horizon movement, a close friend of the Dugins.
“Yes, this is a terrible event, I knew Duginova personally,” said Krasnov, confirming that the car belonged to Alexander Dugin.
“It was her father’s car.” Darja drives another car, but today she took her father’s car, because Aleksandar had other plans. He came back, he was at the scene of the tragedy. My impression is that Alexander was the target of the attack, or they were both,” Krasnov added.
A Toyota Land Cruiser Prado all-terrain vehicle exploded near the village of Bolishe Vyazemi in the Moscow region, and on that occasion a woman was killed, the local police officially confirmed to TASS.
So far, there are no official reports on the cause of the explosion.
According to the media, Alexander Dugin and his daughter spent the evening together at an event in the suburbs of Moscow and were supposed to return to the city together, but Dugin changed his plans at the last minute.
Alexander Dugin is considered a close friend of President Putin and an important adviser on national issues. It is believed that Russia’s attitude towards Ukraine, as well as the annexation of Crimea, is part of its vision of the future of the nation, as well as that Russia must play a significantly more aggressive role on the world stage.
Western media call him an ultra-nationalist and “Putin’s brain”, that is, a man of great influence on the Russian president. He is considered the originator of the idea of a new Eurasianism, a supporter of traditionalism, a critic of Marxism and liberalism.
His daughter, Darya Dugina, was a journalist and fully shared her father’s views, supporting Russia’s policy towards Ukraine. She was thirty years old.
Both were sanctioned with a travel ban to the West as close collaborators of the Russian authorities.
