The Egypt Today portal reports that firefighters with four vehicles are trying to control the fire in the Coptic Church of Saint Merukri in Giza.
At the same time, they are trying to lower the temperature to ensure that the fire does not flare up even more due to the large area of wooden elements in the church.
The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, ordered all relevant services to urgently take all necessary measures.
